Whilst Thomas Turner kept school for a year from April 1775 and negotiated the "hire of Mr. Virgoe's house to teach school in" - now The King's Head -  the official Logs Books weren't started until the opening of a newly built school in 1865. At that time The Log Books document the scathing comments made by the East Hoathly headmasters about the local Dame Schools in the area.

This book is a follow on from "In Loving Memory" and was started as a Millennium project to research the names on the East Hoathly war Memorial. After a long delay the project was taken up again and the research expanded to a wider area.

The Wealden Parish Map Project was devised by Wealden District Council to mark the Millennium and record the various societies and activities of the Wealden parishes.
