year from April 1775 and negotiated the "hire of Mr. Virgoe's
house to teach school in" - now The King's Head - the
official Logs Books weren't started until the opening of a newly
built school in 1865. At that time The Log Books document the
scathing comments made by the East Hoathly headmasters about the
local Dame Schools in the area. |
